Né </span> le <a href="/personne/anniversaires/?date=05%2f14"> 14 mai 1951 </a> à Chicago, Illinois (Etats-Unis) <br><br>Robert Zemeckis étudie à l'Université de l'Illinois, puis obtient en 1973 une licence de cinéma à l'USC. Au cours de ses études, ce natif de Chicago écrit, produit et réalise <a target='_blank' href='http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_gen_cfilm=28343.html' title="Field of honor">Field of honor</a>, court métrage qui obtient l'Oscar du Meilleur film d'étudiant et décroche une quinzaine de récompenses un peu partout dans le monde.<br /><br />En 1978, grâce au soutien d'un certain <a target='_blank' href='http://www.allocine.fr/personne/fichepersonne_gen_cpersonne=471.html' title="Steven Spielberg">Steven Spielberg</a>, avec lequel il a participé à l'écriture de <a target='_blank' href='http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_gen_cfilm=2436.html' title="1941">1941</a> et qui deviendra l'un de ses proches, Robert Zemeckis signe son premier long-métrage, la comédie <a target='_blank' href='http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_gen_cfilm=28345.html' title="Crazy day">Crazy day</a>, évocation de la première tournée des Beatles.
